Our Programmes
Three Programmes. Three Paces. One Reading Room.
Each programme has been designed for a different kind of question — about how we behave, what things cost, or how to read with care over time.

How the Reading Room Works
The reading-room approach begins from the assumption that adults who have managed a household for many years are not starting from zero. They bring experience, habits, and questions — sometimes unexamined — about how money has moved through their lives. The facilitator's role is not to install new information but to create conditions in which existing experience can be examined carefully alongside structured academic material.
Each programme selects material from published, peer-reviewed scholarship and established works in household finance and behavioural economics. The facilitator presents the material in plain language, provides illustrative Thai household examples, and invites discussion. There are no prescribed conclusions. The aim is that each participant arrives at their own more considered understanding.
Sessions are held in person at the Kaew Capital reading room at Sukhumvit Soi 23 — a consistent, quiet environment that supports concentrated reading and open conversation.
A Reading on Behavioural Finance for Adults
A four-session programme that introduces the long-standing literature on behavioural finance — the considered observations about how households actually behave around money, distinct from how textbooks assume they behave. The facilitator presents the material in plain language with Thai household examples and gentle reflection prompts. The aim is greater self-knowledge rather than self-criticism. Participants leave with a printed reading list and a one-page personal reflection card.
Key Benefits
- Understand why households often behave differently from financial models
- Reflect on personal financial habits without judgment
- Grounded in Thai household examples throughout
- Printed reading list for continued independent study
How It Runs
Introduction to behavioural economics and its relevance to Thai households
Loss aversion, anchoring, and mental accounting — illustrated with local examples
How past financial decisions shape current behaviour — a personal reflection session
Reflection card completion and group discussion; reading list issued
The Cost of Living Reading
A one-day workshop on the patient practice of reading household cost-of-living data — how to think about inflation in Thailand, what the Bank of Thailand's published figures actually measure, and how a household at 40+ might consider these figures alongside its own lived experience. The facilitator presents the technical material in plain words and invites discussion. A reference card and printed glossary are provided.
Key Benefits
- Read Bank of Thailand inflation data with greater confidence
- Understand how official figures relate to felt household experience
- Printed glossary of technical terms in plain English
- Reference card for continued use after the workshop
How the Day Runs
Morning: What cost-of-living indices measure and what they leave out
Late morning: Reading Bank of Thailand publications together
Afternoon: Group discussion — how do official figures match household experience?
Close: Reference card and glossary issued; open questions
The Slow Reading Programme
A six-month programme of monthly meetings dedicated to the slow reading of one significant book per month on saving, investing, or household economy. The facilitator selects a curated list adapted to the Thai context and provides a printed companion guide for each book. Discussions are gentle and unhurried; the aim is depth rather than breadth. Many participants describe the programme as the calmest reading they have done in years.
Key Benefits
- Six significant books, each read with care and full discussion
- Companion guide for each book, tailored to Thai context
- Monthly rhythm suited to working adults
- Small cohort; continuing group relationships form over time
- Monthly payment arrangement available
How It Runs
Introductory session: book selection rationale explained; first book and guide issued
Months 1–5: one three-hour monthly session per book; companion guide discussions
Month 6: closing session with personal reflection on the reading year

Standards Across All Programmes
What Applies to Every Session
Privacy and Discretion
Personal disclosures made during discussion remain within the room. No participant information is shared with third parties.
No Product Recommendations
No programme session will include a recommendation for any financial product, fund, or provider. This is structural, not a matter of individual discretion.
Annually Reviewed Materials
Reading lists and companion guides are reviewed before each new cohort. Economic data is updated; texts that no longer meet our standard are replaced.
Small Groups Only
Maximum eight participants per session. When a programme is full, a new cohort is formed rather than the group expanded.
Post-Programme Feedback
A written feedback form is distributed at the end of every programme. Responses are read by both facilitators and inform revisions for the next cycle.
Consistent Location
All sessions take place in the same reading room at Sukhumvit Soi 23. The environment is quiet, private, and suited to concentrated reading.
